Craig facing ultimate challenge to raise money for charity
A BANNATYNE’S fitness instructor is taking part in the ultimate fitness and stamina challenge to raise money for charity.
Craig Owen from Shrewsbury will compete in the UK Ironman triathlon – joining 1,500 competitors in the event which consists of of a 3.8km swim, followed by a 180km cycle ride and a 42km run.
He started a 31-week training regime to prepare for the event, which takes place in September.

Outdoor exercise boom underway ...
THE outdoor exercise boom is already here and the independents are the ones who could benefit most from it.
As budgets grow ever tighter, gyms are always looking for something which interests existing members while also attracting new ones and introducing outdoor exercise classes could be a lucrative market.
Nordic Walking UK’s marketing director Gill Stewart said: “Nordic Walking is something which gyms could easily introduce into their class timetables. What a lot of gyms don’t realise is that these classes are not just additions for existing members – they can attract new ones. Gyms could even offer outdoor membership for people who do not want to go into the club.”
