Retro classes prove a big hit
A LONDON gym is digging out its leg warmers and leotards and enjoying massive demand for eighties’ style studio classes. 
Frame dance and fitness studio, based in Shoreditch, has given its group exercise timetable a retro makeover and added workout sessions inspired by the decade’s exercise icon Jane Fonda.  
Classes include ‘Jane Fonda Tribute’ which incorporate CV and toning in the style of her famous fitness video – but without the bouncing elements that have since been proved to be bad for the body.

Fitness workers committed to careers in sector – survey
WORKERS in the fitness industry are more committed to careers in the sector, according to recent research. 
The annual Working in Fitness Survey, conducted by SkillsActive and REPs, is now in its sixth year and showed a shift in attitudes from staff, revealing they are now more committed to training. 
Almost 1,500 fitness professionals took part and this year – for the first time – SkillsActive derived the equivalent annual salary for those earning hourly wages.

Gym refurb goes ahead
UNIVERSITY-based Hertfordshire Sports Village has undergone a £35,000 gym refurbishment. 
An approved training camp for the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, the facility has benefitted from the installation of 100 new pieces of equipment, including the full range of Matrix 7xe CV equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, steppers, ascent trainers and the Matrix G3 Strength Range.  
The refurbishment was funded by the University of Hertfordshire.
