TANITA will launch the UK’s first Tanita Training Academy this month in a bid to help those working in the fitness industry take a more holistic approach when it comes to advising clients.
The academy will provide a detailed overview of body composition and bioimpedance analysis (BIA) and registration is now open for two half day courses in London and Edinburgh.
It will cover an introduction to the science behind the data, what main measurements the devices track and what it means in real life application.
It will also look at how it can be used by gyms commercially, tailoring to clientele and providing greater potential for cross selling.
Those who complete it will be awarded a CPD accreditation with CIMSPA worth five CPD points.
Tanita Training Academy course lead Simon Wilkinson said: "Body composition monitoring has been proven to be the best way to accurately track your progress when you start a particular fitness or nutrition programme. It can give a much better picture of a person’s internal health compared with other methods, such as BMI or callipers.
“Despite the rising demand, a high number of fitness professionals still lack the necessary knowledge to understand and interpret the data given by the equipment.
"The Tanita Training Academy aims to counter this deficit and to teach those working in the industry how to use the technology to help them and their clients develop personalised training programmes and facilitate real change to health and lifestyle.”
The courses run in London on September 26 and Edinburgh on October 24 from 11-4pm. For more information visit https://tanita.eu/
