Barnsley's first personal training centre opens to the public

BARNSLEY'S first personal training centre has opened its doors.
ProActive Private Health and Fitness Studio offers private one-on-one fitness training and nutritional guidance in a private studio equipped with functional exercise equipment.
The studio is the brainchild of Anthony Chapman, who also works as a freelance personal trainer at Fitness First in Sheffield.
He said: "Not everyone wants to train in a busy gym environment, and at a private studio the client can do a better workout without worrying how they look or what other people may think in a clean environment. Another benefit of joining a private gym is that there are no membership or joining fees.
"The response I have had so far is really good, and I'd like to expand the studio in a couple of years to have more trainers than just myself and offer more services to small groups such as exercise classes."
After spending many years in 'dead end' jobs, Anthony decided to study various American courses to build his expert knowledge of the subject after completing a Premier Diploma in Personal Training. He is also qualified in sports massage and sports therapy.
"in this country nothing comes close to some of the American courses I have studied over the past few years," he added. "I never stop learning new techniques to pass on to my clients.
"In future I would like to own the biggest private training gym in the country, and ProActive is a stepping stone to doing that in future. I would also like to open the first fitness farm, where people can stay and learn how to live a healthy lifestyle - including training and fitness."
Many of the machines in his gym are imported, and ProActive also boasts the only gravity machine in the area, which can be set up to train any part of the body.
ProActive can also offer three treatment rooms offering physiotherapy and beauty therapy.
