A LEADING leisure operator’s contribution to Sheffield’s pivotal role in the 2012 Olympic legacy has been recognised with a prestigious business award.
Sheffield International Venues won the Napoleons Casinos and Restaurants Outstanding Achievement in Sports, Hospitality and Tourism Award, in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University and Sheffield City Council at the Sheffield Business Awards 2013.
The accolade marks SIV’s commitment to delivering activities that link events in the city with tourism and hospitality that in turn generate jobs and drive economic growth.
During the run up to, and during the London 2012 Olympics, SIV played a significant role hosting pre-Games training camps and supporting 97 Team GB athletes with state-of-the-art-facilities.
SIV was also recognised for increasing participation in sport in the city by creating seven successful summer campaigns under the “Sheffield City of Sport 2012” brand.
