NUFFIELD Health has redeveloped an area of its flagship club in London to tap into the growing trend for functional fitness.
Club fitness manager at the Fitness and Wellbeing Centre at Cousin Lane, Will Toal, and national fitness and wellbeing lead, Rick Crawford, were the key figures behind the project.
The pair wanted to create an industry leading, contemporary area specific to the needs of their members – and got in touch with Escape Fitness to get the ball rolling.
New equipment installed included Eleiko Kettlebells, Dynamax Balls, Battle Ropes, Reebok Medicine Balls, Core Bags, ViPRs, TRX Suspension and Rip, with the area being used for a variety of purposes.
Rick said: “We didn’t want this new area to just be limited to PTs.
“We wanted to be able to use the area for group and team training and we have physiotherapists using the area for rehabilitation work with clients as well. This reflects our multi-discipline approach to our business, both in the way we work, but also in the services we provide to our members.”
