Gym gives training boost to Paralympic swimmer

BRITISH Paralympic swimmer Josef Craig has been given a training boost after being made an honorary member of a local gym.
Charles Buchanan, director of Easy Fitness, which runs Fit4less gyms, has made the teenager – who is the current S7 400m freestyle world record holder, world champion and Paralympic champion – a member of his gym in Jarrow, meaning the 16-year-old has an additional place to train when he’s not in the pool.
Charles said: “Josef has achieved a phenomenal amount since last year’s Paralympic Games, and with him being a local lad I wanted to give him an honorary membership to the gym.
“We have state-of-the art facilities here and it was something we wanted to do for him. He’s always had the support of his mother, so we thought it would be a nice gesture to make her an honorary member too.”
