ABOUT 100 children took part in the Kirklees Active Leisure Primary World Cup, which was held at Spenborough Pool and Sports Complex.
The event, which included a family fun day, was held to show support for the upcoming Rugby League World Cup and high profile guests included ex Great Britain international and Sky Sports presenter Mike ‘Stevo’ Stephenson and Huddersfield Giants’ and ex GB international Stuart Fielden.
Throughout the day, money was raised for Forget Me Not Trust and Rugby League Cares through a charity raffle, with the chance to win family tickets to the Rugby League World Cup Grand Final, Dewsbury Rams and the England V Ireland game at the John Smiths Stadium.
Everyone who participated received a t-shirt representing one of the World Cup Nations, a goodie bag and a medal.
