INTERNATIONAL CrossFitter and current world champion Samantha Briggs has joined the firefly ambassador team.
The size of a wrist-watch and worn behind the knee, the firefly device delivers painless electrical impulses to the common peroneal nerve to activate the muscle pumps of the lower leg that return blood towards the heart.
Capable of reducing delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) within 24 hours, the device increases lower limb blood circulation for the accelerated removal of metabolic waste immediately after high-exertion exercise.
CrossFit requires dedicated training and with Sam typically training seven days a week, optimising recovery is key to her success on the international stage, especially as she’s juggling her training with a busy travel schedule.
She said: “The nature of my training means I’m constantly trying to better myself with the amount I can lift, pull and push so the firefly is perfect to help me continue training at the highest level.
"Not having to miss training from aches and pains gives me an advantage over my competition.”
