ABERDEEN Sports Village and Hydrasun are inspiring young athletes to get active and excited about the upcoming event.
The Commonwealth Sports Tour, running every Monday until June, will give more than 400 school children from the City and Shire, aged seven to 13, the opportunity to participate in 12 different sports with top class coaching at ASV.
Squash, athletics, badminton, hockey, aquatics, rugby and gymnastics are all on the athletic agenda, with a Track and Field Mini Games finale planned for the end of June to showcase and celebrate everything the children have learnt throughout the tour.
The event is part of the kids@asv initiative which is organised by ASV, with the support of Hydrasun.
Chief executive at Aberdeen Sports Village David Beattie said: “The tour is a great campaign allowing children from all over the North East to participate in a variety of sporting activities and enjoy the facilities at ASV, with the help of first rate coaching.
“The kids@asv programme is important in teaching children about fitness, and our aim is to inspire children and help them develop and discover new skills.”
