Sporting projects battle it out for awards

SEVEN inspirational projects are battling it out to be named the UK’s favorite National Lottery funded sport project.
The panel of judges had the task of whittling down entrants to a shortlist of seven in the main categories of National Lottery funding: arts, sport, heritage, health, environment, education and voluntary/charity.
All finalists are now competing for public votes for the chance to walk away with an iconic National Lottery Awards trophy, a £2,000 prize and rub shoulders with television sport and music stars at the glamorous National Lottery Awards aired on BBC One and hosted by John Barrowman.
Finalists in the best sports category include Active East, Breeze Network, Carry A Basketball Not A Blade, The Jubilee Sailing Trust, Sainsbury's 2013 School Games, SmashUp! and Street Football Wales.
