Leisure trust gives local athlete a helping hand

A DONCASTER athlete has been given a boost from the town’s leisure trust ahead of a season where he will be competing for medals in both European and World Championships.
Dean Watson, who works as a PE teacher, is a successful figure on the triathlon/Duathlon scene.
He is a member of Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust’s Talented Athletes scheme, which sees local talented athletes get free use of the trust’s venues across the borough.
The trust’s head of community development Jon Whiteley said: “Dean is doing really well in high profile Triathlon and Duathlon events.
"As a trust we feel it is important to nurture local talent and provide the support and access to training needed to help people to put the town on the map for sporting success.”
