A NEW eight week initiative has been announced to get Britain’s workforce moving.
For eight weeks throughout May and June, thousands of employees from across all sectors of the economy will compete to walk further than anyone else as part of Walk Britain, which was officially launched by chief executive of UK Athletics David Moorcroft.
For £5, participants will each receive a pedometer and a unique online profile where they can track their steps, keep an eye on their calorie burn and check out the distances their covering.
The aim for each employee will be to achieve the 10,000 steps landmark every day, but a real time leaderboard will also show them how their activity level compares to the rest of the country.
And they'll be able to take part in fun activity challenges competing against their colleagues and getting their families involved.
The initiative – in partnership with corporate wellness provider iGlobalWellness – is open to organisations of all sizes and in all sectors.
