RUNNERS across the region are being urged to join a free long-distance training run in Chester on Sunday July 5 to get marathon-fit in time for October.
The free training runs take place every month from Total Fitness in Chester and will continue up until October in the lead up to the MBNA Chester Marathon and MBNA Metric Marathon.
Chris Hulse from Active Leisure Events, organisers of the MBNA Chester Marathon and MBNA Metric Marathon said: “It’s really now or never for anyone hoping to go from a basic level of fitness to marathon-fit in time for this year’s autumn races.
“Both of our races take place on 4 October, which leaves three months for runners to get themselves ready. We know from experience that it’s incredibly difficult for non-experienced runners to get motivated and achieve that level of fitness in any less time, so we’re running a free training run to help people kick-start their fitness-regimes and conquer a marathon before the end of 2015.”
