A MASS participation boot camp to celebrate the most active day of the year was a walk in the park for Sheffield fitness enthusiasts.
Scores of local people turned out for the one-hour free event in Hillsborough Park to mark National Fitness Day.
More than 75 participants took part in four activities – boxing, circuit, tug of war and a mini obstacle course – run by fully-qualified trainers from Sheffield City Trust and UK Outdoor Fitness.
Ayesha Mir, Fitness Unlimited’s group exercise manager, who hosted part of the boot camp, said: “It was great to see so many people enjoying exercise and having fun at the National Fitness Day boot camp.
“Everything we do is focused on encouraging people to lead healthier lives and sessions like this one held in the community are a great way to break down barriers to fitness and engage new people in physical activity.”
