A SHEFFIELD kitchen company has done its bit for the local community by supplying equipment that will benefit the next generation of boxers.
Direct Kitchens of Ecclesfield has supplied Hillsborough based Sheffield Boxing Centre with a new boxing ring canvas and corner pads, so members can train using the best facilities possible.
The boxing centre, owned by sports legend Glyn Rhodes MBE welcomes more than 200 amateur and professional boxers through its doors every week including two up and coming title contenders Jez ‘Smokin’ Wilson and Sam ‘Speedy’ Sheedy.
Carl Vigrass of Direct Kitchens said: “Glyn is a true inspiration to 100s of Sheffield kids, some that haven’t necessarily had the best start in life. They come to the gym with nothing and they leave with aspirations and dreams – really wanting to be someone and to achieve exciting things.
“If this new equipment helps him and his team continue to inspire the city’s future talent for many more years to come, it has been worth every penny.”
