GYMS are losing business because they do not reply to email queries fast enough, or make it easy enough for people to get in touch via their websites.
The claims come from Mike Hill, director of Leisure-net Solutions, who carried out the industry’s first mystery ‘e’ shop.
Emails from different Hotmail accounts were sent to 26 different clubs, making three different types of enquiries about memberships and the use of facilities. Half left it over three days before they responded and six never replied at all.
