Barnsley Premier Leisure and Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity team up as part of ‘fighting fit’ initiative.
BARNSLEY Premier Leisure and Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity have teamed up to support local cancer patients.
The five year partnership will see BPL and the charity promote exercise as a means of improving the quality of life of cancer patients.
The operator will also help promote the cancer charity’s Run and Raise initiative – encouraging members and staff to take part in runs whilst raising vital funds for the charity.
Chief executive of Barnsley Premier Leisure Tim Wilson said, “We are delighted to have this partnership in place and be able to offer our services in support of cancer patients in the region. As a charitable not-for-profit company ourselves, being able to offer our facilities to those suffering with the disease is something we were extremely eager to get involved in.
“We look forward to what will be an extremely successful partnership with Weston Park and hope to help them raise the funds they need – as well as promoting the health benefits of exercise – in the process.”
