Investment proving popular at Hampshire gyms

HORIZON Leisure Centres, based in Hampshire, are benefiting from continued membership growth and award wins following an investment in premium performance Life Fitness equipment.
Its Havant Leisure Centre, which opened in 2014, was a shortlisted for the Leisure Trust Gym of the Year in the 2015 National Fitness Awards and its Waterlooville Leisure Centre was named Gym of the Year in 2016 in a local competition less than 12 months after opening.
Chief executive at Horizon Leisure Centres Howard Broad attributes much of the success to the addition of innovative Life Fitness equipment.
He said: “Equipping a new gym with state-of-the-art equipment on trend with the industry today makes a massive difference. Members are impressed with the variety available as well as the aesthetics. We’ve seen our member base double across the two sites since installing the Life Fitness range.”
The comprehensive selection of equipment includes Integrity Series Treadmills, Integrity Series PowerMill Climbers, Circuit Series Strength Equipment and the highly popular SYNRGY360, which incorporates eight popular fitness trends including group personal training, bootcamp training, exercise and weight loss, functional training and sport specific training.
Howard added: “Crucial for our gyms’ success is the engaging training sessions. SYNRGY360 is one of the most-used pieces and we run three classes a day incorporating the frames; it’s a great way to combine fitness and strength work using multiple stations.”
