Independent gym does its bit for charity

A GYM in Leeds has rewarded members for their generosity after they donated unloved bikes to underprivileged children.
BPM held a celebration to mark the end of its Hierarchy of Fitness Needs in Leeds challenge, supported by local businesses including healthy eating restaurant Nourish and Sweaty Betty.
Throughout the month, members were encouraged to donate their unloved bikes to the club and take part in as many classes as possible to climb the hierarchy – the more classes they completed, the more prizes the would win.
10 donated bikes were collected at the closing event party, which will be reconditioned by Bike Libraries and offered back to the communities of Yorkshire to give to underprivileged children.
Co-owner Jen Robinson said: “BPM were delighted with the support and commitment from our local business partners and members in helping create awareness for Bike Libraries.
“There will be many happy children in the communities of Yorkshire with their cool new conditioned bikes. It really does promote a more active lifestyle.”
