SHEFFIELD’S new £7m leisure centre has officially opened in the north of the city.
Thorncliffe Health and Leisure Centre in High Green was officially opened by the Right Worshipful Lord Mayor of Sheffield, coun Denise Fox.
The state of the art development was funded by Sheffield City Council, Sport England, NCSEM and Ecclesfield Parish Council and is operated by Places for People.
Centre manager Alex Greaves from Places for People said: “Following the opening of Thorncliffe Health and Leisure Centre we have been delighted with the popularity of the centre and customer feedback we have received.
“The centre had more than 18,000 visits in the first month of opening and our swimming lesson and fitness memberships continue to exceed expectations.”
