EVERYONE Active and Badminton England have teamed up to get more families playing badminton over the summer.
The operator’s leisure centres will offer co-ordinated Family Badminton sessions once a week over the four weeks of August during the Rio Summer Olympics.
Each centre will also receive a badminton net to use outdoors, for outreach and at other indoor facilities to engage with families playing badminton in areas of deprivation.
Everyone Active activities and funding manager Chris Duncan said: “We are very pleased to be working again with Badminton England and hope that we can help increase the profile and appeal of badminton in the UK.
“Badminton is the perfect sport for families and we want to make it as easy as possible for people not currently engaged with the sport to play over summer by including the whole family unit.”
