THE Davis Cup trophy will be arriving at a Sheffield leisure centre later this month as part of a national tour.
Tennis fans will have the chance to see the cup first hand at Graves Tennis and Leisure Centre after the Lawn Tennis Association launched the tour to celebrate Great Britain’s historic win.
Local school children, leisure centre members and the general public in Sheffield will be given a rare opportunity to see and be pictured with the trophy, as well as having a chance to pick up a racket and play tennis themselves.
General manager Alex Greaves said: “We are thrilled to have been chosen to be a part of this very special Davis Cup Trophy Tour.
“We hope that by enabling the local community to share the successes of the GB team we can drive participation and encourage more passion and enthusiasm for tennis in the area.”
