MYZONE has entered into a partnership with the national Workplace Challenge from County Sports Partnership Network after the technology successfully engaged employees in physical activity as part of a pilot study.
The technology was used as part of a project with Blackpool Council and Lancashire Sport.
Working with an average of 15,000 employees per year, the workplace-based activity logging system generates a variety of leader boards which compare the activity levels of employees and businesses locally, regionally and nationally. Workplaces can also benefit from the local knowledge and expertise from County Sports Partnerships for the development of on site activity and access to local activities and events.
The aim of the pilot was to test the integration of the wearable technology in the programme and how it helps employees to easily keep track and be motivated from their activity. The data collected by MYZONE automatically updated the participant’s online Workplace Challenge account and placed them on the national leader boards.
Following the success of the pilot, MYZONE has become an official partner of the Workplace Challenge and the technology is now available to all participations across the UK. Employees can purchase a MYZONE belt with a £70 discount of the RRP price of £129.99.
Project manager for the national Workplace Challenge Andrew Watson said: “MYZONE provides employees with a simple but highly effective way to keep track of their activity and because it’s based on a percentage of max heart rate, it’s a truly inclusive way for everyone to move more, be rewarded and generate some fun competition.”
