DOUBLE Olympic champion and Pulse ambassador Dame Kelly Holmes has attended an event to celebrate the success of a £500,000 refurbishment project at Basingstoke Sports Centre.
The gym now boasts 150 stations, including Pulse’s technologically advanced Series three cardio equipment, as well as resistance equipment, functional training and free-weights.
Adding another 30 stations to the gym has increased accessibility during peak times and reduced waiting times for popular machines.
The team at Pulse Fitness also advised on the creation of a wall-to-wall functional training zone. The area includes a large bespoke functional training rig, which features a turf prowler track, TRX resistance bands and three punch bags, as well as two interactive Cardio Walls.
Chief executive of operator Basingstoke Sports Trust James Starbuck said: “We were delighted to welcome Dame Kelly Holmes to the centre to celebrate this fantastic refurbishment project.
“The new Pulse equipment has been extremely well received by our members. As a charity, our top priority is engaging the community in healthier, more active lifestyle choices and we are confident we have achieved the perfect mix of equipment to engage a wide demographic.”
