FITNESS equipment supplier Cybex has installed four new treadmills at the Thomas Guy Club, the sports and social club for Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London.
Cybex first installed a range of strength and cardio equipment in 2012, and as a result of the popularity of the facility, the gym’s existing treadmills were recently upgraded to Cybex’s premium model, the 790T.
Recreational services manager at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust Patrick Hourihan said: “We take staff health and wellbeing very seriously and the Thomas Guy Club remains a central part of this, so we wanted to upgrade our existing treadmills with a premium model to meet the growing popularity of the gym.
“We chose the 790T because of its higher maximum speed and incline to cater for our users that seek a more demanding workout, but also because of the product’s diverse range of features that suit all demographics, as the gym is used by members with a wide range of fitness levels and abilities.”
The gym is used by about 4000 members every month, comprising staff from Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Trust and personnel from Kings Health Partners.
Patrick added: “Feedback from our staff has been very positive regarding the new treadmills and we’re keen to see the difference they can make as part of our members’ fitness programmes.”
