NATIONAL Fitness Award winning Westway Sports and Fitness Club is set to be transformed, thanks to a £1m investment from Everyone Active and Westway Trust.
The facility will benefit from a refurbished gym, which will be kitted out with the latest cardio and resistance Technogym equipment, as well as a new free-weights area.
All studios will also be completely refurbished, including the group cycling studio which will be kitted out with state-of-the-art indoor bikes.
Members will benefit from new changing rooms, which will include relaxing steam and sauna rooms, and the existing squash courts are being refurbished.
Other general improvement work includes a new air conditioning unit in the gym and studios, a new heating and ventilation system, as well as improved energy saving technology to help reduce the club’s carbon footprint.
Everyone Active general manager Tamara Kissling said: “It has always been important for us to offer the community great provision of health and fitness facilities.
“These refurbishments mean we’re able to provide even more opportunity for people to get healthier and more active, and we hope to see friends and family coming along to try out the fantastic new equipment and facilities once the work is complete.”
The work is set to last four months in total and while the refurbishment occurs, members will be able to use the recently upgraded facilities at the nearby Westway Sports and Fitness Centre.
